- Independent Living (IL) is for seniors who are mostly independent and need minimal help. Residents live independently in an apartment-style setting, but have access to services such as housekeeping, meals, and social activities.
- Assisted Living (AL) provides support for those needing help with some daily activities, such as medication management or dressing, while still maintaining independence. Meals, housekeeping, and activities are included when living in AL.
- Long-Term Care (LTC) is for individuals who need 24hr care and supervision around the clock. Individuals generally have complex medical needs and are unable to live independently. Individuals are cared for by a multidisciplinary team, that may consist of nurses, doctors, dieticians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, and recreational therapists.
- You have been evaluated as requiring 24-hour professional nursing supervision and care that cannot be sufficiently provided at home or through housing and health services

- The cost of living in a subsidized long-term care bed varies based off the financial assessments. The rate is calculated based off the taxes that were filed the previous year, with the rate amounting to approximately 80% of the taxes filed.

- Television, cable, and internet charges
- Hygiene, bathing, and grooming products that differ from our supply
- Medications not covered by PharmaCare’s Plan B
- Personal needs such as dry cleaning, labeling, clothing repairs, alterations
- Newspaper and magazine subscriptions
- Hair cuts
- Certain special outings or events
- Health equipment, such as specialized mobility equipment and mattresses
- Health supplies (such as complex wound care dressings) not covered by extended health benefits or Veterans Affairs Canada, such as complex wound care dressing
- Health services not covered by extended health benefits such as ambulance service, optometry, podiatry, massage therapy, and basic dental care
- Physician charges for completion of medical forms
