Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

  • Independent Living (IL) is for seniors who are mostly independent and need minimal help. Residents live independently in an apartment-style setting, but have access to services such as housekeeping, meals, and social activities.
  • Assisted Living (AL) provides support for those needing help with some daily activities, such as medication management or dressing, while still maintaining independence. Meals, housekeeping, and activities are included when living in AL.
  • Long-Term Care (LTC) is for individuals who need 24hr care and supervision around the clock. Individuals generally have complex medical needs and are unable to live independently. Individuals are cared for by a multidisciplinary team, that may consist of nurses, doctors, dieticians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, and recreational therapists.
